Lady Jocasta and the Spine of L'Haine (working title) is a light fantasy novella with horror elements. It follows a 14 y/o protagonist (Jocasta) and an heirloom sentient sword (Spine).
I am currently in the drafting stage of this novella inspired by darker 80s fantasy movies. In terms of vibes, it takes influence from The Last Unicorn, Labyrinth, and Angel's Egg and is intended to be a gift for my brother who really loves 80s fantasy movies. I hope that the writing of it will get along better than my current work on Buffalo Shells, as I've written a novella before and find the task a little less daunting than something that ranges 80-90k (even my novels are short!).
